St Jerome's Catholic Parish

The original St Jerome's church (corner of Rockingham Road and Edeline Street) opened on May 27, 1934, and was a significant part of the Catholic community until the new and current St. Jerome's was opened in 1987. In 2004, the parish was entrusted to the Somascan Fathers who has helped the community grow and flourish today.

The Somascan Fathers are a religious congregation of priests and brothers, founded in Italy in the 16th century by Saint Jerome Emiliani and named after the motherhouse at Somasca.
